Filter’s got the dirt: *With their upcoming album, The Hives are taking a cue from their own black and white signature outfits. The Black and White Album, will mark the 4th studio release for the Swedish rockers.
Although without an official release date, the album appears to have a little something for everyone. Recorded in various places around the world, the album will feature production from Dennis Herring (of Modest Mouse and Elvis Costello fame), Jacknife Lee and Pharrell Williams.*

I (surprisingly) rather enjoy the duet and clip for the Timbaland/Hives collabo, ‘Throw It On Me’, from Tim’s Shock Value LP released earlier this year. Not quite as ridiculously catchy as the Tim/Justin/Nelly Furtado fusion, ‘Give It To Me’, but pretty good nonetheless. I’m dying to know if the video got the thumbs up from Tarantino & Rodriguez. Hmmm…

And you thought Timbaland’s upcoming collaboration with Bjork was bizarre! Turns out the beatstro (do we like that term? I can use it regularly if you so desire) will have a slew of guest stars on his upcoming album, out March 27th.
Billboard hints at some of those guest stars: Justin T, Nelly F, Jay Z, Snoop, MIA, Fall Out Boy, The Hives, Elton John. WTF, right? That Hives/Tim track could really be incredible, if done properly. Tim and Elton, I don’t know what to think….
If the Elton/Tim track becomes a Billboard #1 single, I’ll be double damned!!
Oh, She Wants Revenge is on the album as well. I guess Interpol was booked.
(although the accompanying photo features Beck and Timbaland in the studio, we have no news that Mr. Hansen will make an apperance on the LP, but it wouldn’t shock me in the slightest)
