In September, Unicycle Loves You debuted their new album Mirror, Mirror. Here’s guitarist Jim Carroll describing the lp:

“While many of the sounds and vibes on Mirror, Mirror were influenced by the cult films we love, much of the inspiration also came from these Macmillan educational children’s text books from the ’70′s that Highwheel Records have been keeping in storage. We obtained permission for the use of the ‘Ghost In The Mirror’ image in the album art and the poem Nicole reads in ‘The Small Print’ from the creators of these books for our album. And ‘There’s A Giant Walking In My Heart’ is actually a title of a poem written by a group of kids from one of the books. So, the coloring book is kind of an homage to these ridiculously crazy books.”

If you are in Chicago around the holidays, the band will be playing a special headlining show at Beat Kitchen on Thursday, December 30th and as a special treat, will be handing out copies of the album along with a 20 page coloring book inspired by Mirror, Mirror to the first 100 guests.
