On April 21st Weird Al wrote out a very long “saga” about trying to get permission from Lady Gaga to record a parody of her song ‘Born this way.’ Long story short, she didn’t grant him permission, he threw a fit on the internet, she gave in. Well in the blog post about all the wonderful things this song was going to be, Al said: “Man, I wish you all could have had a chance to see the video we were going to do for this thing. It was going to be BEYOND AWESOME, and disturbing on many levels. Oh well.”
Well, wish granted. Here is the “BEYOND AWESOME” video.
Hm, well at least we’ll grant him that it is disturbing.
Ha! Here’s photographic evidence (courtesy of AG’s MySpace bulletin).
Can’t wait to hear the (surely amusing) results.
Adam Green & Lissy Trullie recently tackled ‘Just A Friend’.
Weird Al projected first week album sales = 73,000 (#9)
Scissor Sisters projected 1st week sales = 40,000 (#19)
Billboard has the final tally, which will be up later today, but this is what HITS is claiming.
I guess we should be happy that SS finally have a top 20 album in the US but seeing that Fergie, Clay Aiken and Weird Al all sold more copies than Ta-Dah just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Comparatively, The Sisters have the #1 album and single for the second week in a row in the UK.
