In the spring of last year (just around the time that I began unveiling TMS Hearts Moz), I received an e-mail including Zee Avi’s gorgeous cover of Morrissey’s ‘First Of The Gang To Die’. From that moment on, I fell hard for Zee’s quirky and alluring self-titled debut album. Last night was the first time that I was able to catch the Malaysian singer-songwriter in a live setting. As expected, she performed a brilliant set (which even included her charming take on Interpol’s ‘Slow Hands’). Official TMS Rating: 9/10. In November, Zee Avi dropped by NPR.
